Nothing makes a home feel more comfortable and relaxing than floral arrangements. It brings color and life into a space. Something about nature just calls to us and bringing a little nature inside feels... well... natural.
However, I have a confession to make, I have a brown thumb. It's actually very close to a black thumb but every once in a while I manage to keep a plant alive so I'm choosing to say I have a brown thumb instead of black. So what is a person with a brown thumb to do with this deep desire to bring nature inside the home? We go faux or we go home!
If you have a green thumb then by all means please bring in some houseplants into your space. Houseplants are good for your health and as an added bonus they bring beauty into your space. If you have the time and the budget to opt-in for fresh flowers each week then go for it! But for those like me who just can't hack the real deal, add in some artificial plants instead.
Floral arrangements do more than just enhance the physical aspects of the space, they can also impact mood. The green in floral arrangements promotes peace and tranquility. Beyond colors, floral arrangements add texture (see my previous texture post here) and depth. I experiment with the fullness of a floral arrangement. Hydrangeas are a great flower to use when I need something full of color. Take into consideration height as well. An orchid adds great height and a touch of delicacy.
Whether you add in fresh flowers, a houseplant or artificial arrangements, bring in a little nature to the home. You won't regret it.
